Moment-mal!  2007

Für die 1. Klangbiennale des Hessischen Rundfunks (HR) in Frankfurt am Main habe ich die Soundinstallation „Moment mal!“ konzipiert. Sie besteht aus 4 Aktiv-Lautsprechern, welche ich im Eingangsbereich des Hr-Gebäudes aufstellte. Auf jedem der Lautsprecher sind akustische Momentaufnahmen aus dem Leben eines Menschen zu hören. Es ertönen z.B. Geräusche aus einem Kindergarten oder ein heftiger Schusswechsel eines Krieges. Alle Stücke werden parallel zueinander abgespielt, jedoch gibt es bestimmte Momente, in denen der Wunsch geäußert wird, die Zeit anhalten zu können, worauf alle Stücke, bis auf eines, langsam verstummen. Für ein paar Sekunden ist nur ein Lautsprecher zu hören. Anschließend ertönen sie wieder alle zugleich, bis zum nächsten Moment des Zeitanhaltens. Die Installation hat weder Anfang noch Ende und könnte unendlich lange gespielt werden.

This sound-installation was presented during the 1. Binnual Sound Festival of the German radio-station “Hesssicher Rundfunk“ (HR) in Frankfurt am Main. I arranged 4 aktiv-loudspeakers in the foyer of the “HR“-building. Each speaker plays accoustical snapshots of human life. For example you can hear sounds of a German pre-school or sounds of a gunfight of a war. All tracks sound at the same time, but only as long as one track expresses the wish to let time stand still. At a certain moment all tracks, except one, are silent for some seconds, so that you can listen to one loadspeaker only. After that, they all continue sounding at once, until the next “stoppage of time“. This sound-installation has neither a beginning nor an end and could be played endlessly.
